General Information

We are is looking for a talented Intern / Junior research scientist to join our Zurich-based team for a 6-month internship (early start dates preferred). Join the Sony AI family and shape how to “Unleash human imagination and creativity’’. As a junior research scientist with a focus on robotics and artificial intelligence, you will develop novel solutions leveraging the cutting-edge Sony robotic technology.

Job Description

• Execute research programs on robotics and investigate new algorithms and approaches to solve AI challenges.
• Work closely with a team of AI researchers and programmers in Zurich and Tokyo to address AI questions on ambitious projects.
• Write codes to support research in both Python and C++.
• Write reports/papers and give presentations for internal audience with an opportunity to participate in international conferences.

Qualifications & Experience

• Ph.D. or MS in the field of robotics, machine learning or Artificial intelligence.
• Creative problem solver, to be able to think on their feet and come up with unique solutions based on an indepth state-of-the-art literature review.
• Strong mathematical and robotics fundamentals, including linear algebra, calculus, inverse kinematics and redundancy resolution.
• Hands on experience building machine learning (classification and regression) models.
• Strong programming knowledge and proficiency in Python, C++ and further experience in working in code versioning control process and tools (Github).
• (Preferable, not required) Experience with learning frameworks/tools (Pytorch, Cuda).
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, as well as interpersonal skills including the ability to address to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Passion for making AI work in realistic domains.
• Ability to deliver on tight deadlines and adapt to evolving or changing scenarios.
