Masahiro has led several Sony’s AI & Robotics efforts since 1993, such as the Entertainment Robots AIBO and QRIO, Force-Control Robot Rudy, and Super Precision Bilateral Robotics. In 2004, he established Sony Intelligence Dynamics Laboratory, where self-developmental learning were studied using QRIO. Fujita-san spoke about these projects in an Invited Talk at IJCAI 2021. He has been instrumental in the establishment of Sony Group's AI Ethics Guidelines, the establishment of the Sony Group AI Ethics Steering Committee, and the development of the AI Ethics Assessment Process in Sony Quality Management System.
