Jaden Travnik

As a research engineer and MSc student in the Bionic Limbs for Improved Natural Control (BLINC) Lab at University of Alberta, Jaden focused on the problem of real-time online prediction in resource bounded systems. He designed and proposed Selective Kanerva Coding as a linear function approximation method with properties that are desired in limited computation systems present in prosthetic arms. During this research, Jaden interned at Sony in Tokyo studying the "Simulation to Real" gap for mobile robotics. After graduating, Jaden led a research team at Eidos applying Reinforcement Learning (RL) to functional testing in games. The team developed several tools and methods towards this end including the Grid Sensor which was open-sourced to Unity MLAgents with an explanatory blog.
