Michael joined Sony AI in 2020 and works remotely from Portland, Oregon, in the United States. He has worked on building large-scale, production machine learning systems for digital advertising, finance, and cyber security, as well as building platforms for applied research in high-energy physics and reinforcement learning. Michael completed his Ph.D. in computer science in 2014 under the supervision of Professor Melanie Mitchell at Portland State University, focusing on biologically-inspired models of computer vision.
