Patrick MacAlpine

Profile

Patrick received his Ph.D. in computer science at the University of Texas at Austin where he was advised by Peter Stone. Patrick received both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical engineering from Rice University. Patrick's research spans the areas of autonomous multiagent systems, robotics, and machine learning with an emphasis on reinforcement learning. As part of his research, Patrick has served as the team leader of the robot soccer UT Austin Villa RoboCup 3D Simulation League team, and has contributed to the team winning the RoboCup 3D Simulation League world championship nine times. Prior to joining Sony, Patrick was a postdoctoral researcher at Microsoft Research.
