General Information

Sony AI is seeking a highly motivated, self-driven intern with previous experience in perception systems and Machine Learning to work on one of Sony AI flagship projects at the intersection of robotics and gastronomy. Under the close supervision of engineers and researchers, you will design, test and deploy on a real robotic platform a vision-based system to evaluate properties of complex food items.
We encourage interns to be proactive and to bring their own ideas to the table on how to formalize problems and implement solutions. Our project requires creativity and flexibility and offers the chance to be a part of something the world has never seen before. Come help us bring state of the art robotics to the kitchen.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Design of visual evaluation systems
• Implementation and testing of the algorithms on real world system
• Real world data collection and the data analysis Integration to robotic system

Qualifications & Experience

• Pursuing a PhD, Masters degree in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Robotics, or related areas.
• Excellent programming skill in both C++ and/or Python
• Excellent communication skills in English
• Experience in GUI development is a plus
• Experience in ROS1/ROS2 is a plus

Duration

The internship duration will be 6 months.
